Simon's Heart CPR Jukebox visits Holy Cross

On Tuesday, May 2nd, thanks to our Holy Cross Home & School Association,  Simon’s Heart brought their CPR Jukebox to our school for all 3rd through 8th graders. FOX29’s very own Bob Kelly visited for his segment, Kelly’s Classroom,  to highlight this wonderful organization. Simon’s Heart’s mission is to create and advance innovative and evidence-based programs, policies, and research that prevent sudden cardiac arrest and death in children, teens, and young adults.  Students learned the importance of the Chain of Survival steps they can take if someone is in need of help. The students also were able to practice how to use an AED machine.  Holy Cross Regional Cathoilc School has a brand new AED  machine in the school building close to the gymnasium and one in St. Eleanor Church. All teachers and staff were recently certified in CPR and AED use in February as part of our professional development.
